I'm in the studio now. Working on a song...more like...finishing the opening track for my new band's debut EP. This is exciting. It's got a bit of an odd feel. For those of you who are curios, this is thrash metal, not easy-listening, like "Into the Unknown". I'm back to my "roots" and ready to dish out the four-track EP and standalone single next month. And I tell you, if you ain't into some thrash, stay back. This stuff is FAST. Anyways, the release date for the music is August 9th. Keep checking back each week for more updates. Note that the new band has no title. Wrong. It does. However, I'm keeping that under wraps until further notice. But, like I said, keep checking back each week for more info.
I composed these tracks after deciding that "Ballad of the One" was too good to be the last. I recorded the 7th track on "Into the Unknown" last year, but never had use for it. Sure, my best friend, Matthew Lambert, LOVED it, but I wanted more than just the one track. So, in April, I began the recording sessions and composed "Seaside Apocalypse" as the opening track to the album. I will say, I am proud of that one. It remains as my favorite. After that, I laid down five more tracks, with "Space Odyssey" being my third favorite. Now, most of you know that "Into the Unknown" has been out since May, so you're probably wondering, "Why is he just now posting this blog?" Well, for one thing, I did a news post on the Taylor Productions news page last month. Another thing, this site was born less than 24 hours ago, so I'm in the mood for blogging all day long, haha! But the primary reason for finally doing this post is that Amazon has FINALLY put the album in their online store as an MP3 download. Sure, iTunes and Google Play has it, but Amazon is the one I wanted. Besides, Amazon put it out at $6.23 for the whole album, whereas iTunes put it at $9.99 and Google Play at $6.93. As you can see, Amazon and I are good friends. And, yes, I did want the album as a whole to be around six or seven dollars. It's not something I'd expect to be #1 on the charts. I just wanted to put out a good album. Something that would be relaxing. To help me sleep at night. |
